Let’s talk about the club, shall we?

If you've been resort shopping and noticed a room category simply labeled "Club Level," you're not imagining a typo -  it's one of the most underrated upgrades at Walt Disney World, and one my clients ask me about constantly. Club Level (sometimes called Concierge) is available at select Deluxe resorts and puts you on a dedicated floor with access to a private lounge just for guests in that room category.

Here's what it actually includes, and how to know if it's worth the splurge for your family.

What You're Paying For

Club Level isn't a fancier version of your room - it's the same square footage you'd get at a standard Deluxe room in most cases. What you're really booking is access: a private, key-card-locked lounge, a dedicated staff to assist you, and food and drinks served throughout the day, included in your stay.

Your Own Personal Concierge

Every Club Level lounge is staffed by a concierge team whose only job is taking care of guests on that floor. They can help troubleshoot the My Disney Experience app, offer recommendations for your day, and yes -  they can also work on snagging you a dining reservation. Just don't count on them pulling a reservation out of thin air if a restaurant is genuinely full, though it never hurts to ask.

The Lounge: Where the Real Value Is

This is the part that sells most people. The lounge is open for most of the day and stocked with food and non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, all included:

  • Morning: pastries, fruit, yogurt, and hot breakfast items - some lounges even offer made-to-order options

  • Midday: light snacks like veggies, chips, and cookies

  • Evening: the big one - heavy hors d'oeuvres pulling flavors from that resort's own restaurants, often substantial enough to be dinner

  • Nightcap: cordials and dessert typically served in the later evening hours

Each resort's lounge has its own name, hours, and personality, so the experience varies depending on where you stay -  something I always walk clients through when we're picking a resort. The food offered at the lounges is dictated by the food at the resorts main restaurants- think Hawaiian inspired fare at the Polynesian and Seafood at Beach Club.

So, Is It Worth It?

Here's the honest answer: it depends on how your family vacations.

Club Level tends to shine for families who like a slower-paced trip - sleeping in a bit, grabbing breakfast in the lounge before heading out, and coming back for an afternoon break before the parks again. If your crew is rope-drop-to-close every single day, you'll miss the window when the best food is out, and the value drops significantly.

It's also worth noting the room cost is flat regardless of how many people are staying in it - so it stretches further for a family of four or five than it does for a couple.

If a restful home base, an included evening meal, and a quiet escape from the park crowds sound appealing, Club Level might be exactly the upgrade your next trip needs.
